TheCharacters
From Simreal
These are mostly reference pictures of the main characters. A different collection of pictures resides in the official continuity img of all of the extras, the rooms, and so on. Someday I may post some of those, who knows?
The makeup team was myself, Jenna Green-Smith who worked the first couple of days and helped with makeup design, Curry Blaha who was a godsend and my second in command, and Lisa Robinson who worked tirelessly.
None of us really know what we were doing at the start (except for Jenna) and I'm curious how our learning curve will look in the final product.
I get to shoot a bunch of these people! It was fun, though frustrating when the squibs didn't work right. There was rarely time to try more than once.
Here are some early makeup tests:
Matt, played by Adrian Quinonez, is the poor bastard in the middle of the love triangle. He as thoroughly abused and terribly confused, but in love. Poor fellow.
The beautiful Tina, played by Nicole Graf, who was awesome, perky, and vicious. She is the lady who was replaced in Matt's life by the dead girl. She was not happy about this. her makeup and hair was done by Curry. Thank goodness I had Curry.
Hank is tall, played by the tall Neil Fennell, is Tina's old boyfriend. Hank is not necessarily a nice person, but Neil is great. My perspective of Hank is somewhat skewed, since I only had to make him scraped and bloody a few times... these living guys just don't have interesting makeup.
Mitchell, played by Robert Lambert, is a fun, drunken party guy, and good friend of Hank's.
Karen is a bit of a spoiler in the plot, so I won't talk about her. She is played by Andrea Stevens. Curry did her makeup.
Sarge, played by sleep-deprived Jason Konopisos, is something of a leader among the undead. I think everyone got to put on his makeup at least once, but normally his makeup was done by Curry.
Rafaella, played by the powerful Melissa Holmes, is a wildcard among the undead. And she rocks. Jenna did her initial makeup, but I took it over after that. I wish I had pictures of my version, which varied a bit from this one. Maybe later I'll find some.
Stephen, played by Paul Smith, is a nice guy, and Episcopalean. Poor fellow, he doesn't deserve the abuse he gets. This isn't a good picture of him, though. Lisa did his makeup most of the time, though Curry filled in too.
Will, played by the other Paul, Paul Galvan, is a feisty dead guy -- and I get to do blue-screen makeup on him, too. I'm dying to see how that turns out. I did his makeup.
Larry, played by Kirk Lansdon, is hungry. A big guy. He needs to eat. Mmmm. Food. Larry belonged to Curry.
Shasta Lusk gets to play two characters -- a background character I called "Not-Ada" and her main character, "Ada" (the second row of pictures). We have an ambitious effect for Ada that could have gone better... I'm curious to see if editing makes it work. The Not-Ada was done by Jenna, and Lisa did the Ada work.
Chuy, played by Daniel Nossa, has a small part to play... but Daniel was cool, and he got to stand in as Matt once or twice, too... heh. Chuy was Lisa's to paint.
Lindsey here, on the left, did some makeup fill-in work and played an extra. Nik, on the right, my son, was an extra as well.
