Back in 2003, I did a WetGuts prop to disembowl an actor. Well, we didn't really use it that year, so I've been waiting for a chance to do it again... and this year, I did!

This prop is in two parts. The first part is a bunch of hot-pour PVC work done around a few ribs of a Bucky skeleton attached to a black t-shirt (yeah, e-mail Edwin at Simreal if you want to know more). Then, I had to make some intestines. You know. Innards.

In the past I've poured hot-pour PVC into sausage casing, but this is a really inadequate solution. I tried it this year again, just because I like suffering I think, and it came out worse than usual.

So I had to brainstorm.

I ended up buying a bunch of really cheap plastic leis from the party store. Around these, I corpsed some nasty poly spiderweb (using thick latex carpet glue from the big-box hardware store) just like the DryCorpse technique except I ended up with a long, wet, squishy length of... latexy, webby, lei. As the final step, I wrapped it all up in plastic wrap (industrial-sized saran wrap) for that slick, glossy finish! I don't know if it will ever dry, all wrapped up like that, but I don't mind. It's lovely.

The final touches to the illusion were the table, built by Andy for haunts past, which held the lower half of the actor (whose name escapes me). Good guy. Suffered a lot for the show.
