It's just embarrassing -- it seems that every time I go to this journal to write about my current status, I instead find streams of apology issuing forth from my fingers. Delays and distractions... it never seems to end.
So, again, I have very little to say that relates to Boris -- I still have all the parts I need to complete him, and I still have not been able to make the time to do so. Talking to the people at the Robot Group, well, I guess this problem is not unique to me so I trust that you, the faithful reader, understands.
BattleBots is happening again at Comdex, in the middle of November! Boris could be ready for this -- he really could. But I won't be able to make it. On the one hand, I've spent all of my available money on, well, Boris, plus putting together stuff around the book and the Goblin Systems. On the other hand, I may be required by my business to go to a different trade show at the same time, so I don't think I could commit to this BattleBots even if I had full sponsorship or stacks of extra cash. Frustrating but unavoidable.
On the positive side, once the year-2000 visits us with its nice round zeros, I expect to drag Boris all over the place. After all this time, the setbacks, the triumphs -- it is time that Boris be seen!
I received a crate of Applied Robotics books last week, and promptly sold a large stack of them! The electronics kits that accompany the book are also moving nicely. I hope to squeeze good reviews out of my early buyers, to help convince the rest of the world to buy my book! Now, of course, I am putting together a proposal for the sequel...
