Building Not Safe

Location: Back Entrance to building (F)

Purpose

Continue the run-around, thwarting the guests in their progress. Might start getting hints of alien-ness. Crank up the tension from BrokenStation.

Desription

The group walks up the trail to the building.

The group arrives at back door to the building, only to be met by a person who SEEMS to be with the authorities telling them that they can't go in that way. This person should make the group suspicious, because he actually is an alien. This person knows what's in the building (Alien HQ) and definitely doesn't want the group to know that.

This person is alien, but gives no explicit indication of that! This actor should be wearing a pin to match the deputy from the bus, the cattle brand, etc.

This person is wound too tight; uptight, hostile, threatening.

Dialog concept: "You can't come through this door. It's.... blocked." Question group sharply: what are you doing here? What do you want? When are you leaving? You won't see anything here. You need to get into the building. How are you going to get into the building? What is your plan? What is your name? How tall are you? Do you eat peanuts? (okay, maybe not those last few)

We want them to continue wanting to get to the building, but have to deter them from that entrance.

And they can't go left, on the side porch...for another reason (actually because there's other stuff there, but we're not telling the group that). Block that off with crime tape too. Don't explain (my new favorite line). It'll drive them nuts (hopefully).

A speaker pointed at the door can create fill noises, perhaps even screaming? Maybe playing the same music that will later be playing inside. Not too loud or overt, but masking other sounds of other stations inside the building. Guard hears nothing if the group asks about it. Perhaps we can use a sound cue to trigger the exit.

They have to go around the building to the group's right. "Go now, quickly. And try not to draw attention to yourselves!"

This is not a western station, but the actual back-door of the building.

Special Timing

This is a 2-minute station, with timing combined with the Flash-Boom at the next stop.

Guide Notes

You don't recognize this person. Oh, well. They must be from the security forces. We'd better do what they say.

Since the porch is blocked off, we'll have to go around the building to the main entrance.

Actors

  • (1) Authority figure (alien), everything "not quite right"
    • Makeup, some subtle scarring
    • Costume, poorly fitting suit, with perhaps some odd lumps here and there

Station

  • Visual Blocks at top parking lot and back porch
  • Keep top parking lot EMPTY during runs
  • Crime tape, but the wrong kind -- not what was used at TrailsEnd.
  • Put a corrugated metal or plastic roof over porch

Effects

  • Alien presence, light constant odour, perhaps theme sound.
  • Masking audio pointed at back door from inside.
