FriedCorpse
From Simreal
Revisiting the classic WetCorpse technique of using Hot-Pour PVC to build up several colored layers of plastic on the classic Bucky bones, we get an entirely new effect if we start with yellow instead of the dark meat colors. Very exciting!
Instead of the piddly little quart double-boilers, I wandered of to Target and got two inexpensive, 6-cup deep fryers! The lowest setting is about 300 degrees F, which is the perfect holding temperature for the PVC. To get a decent melt time, though, I had to crank the thermostat to max, otherwise the silly stuff just sat there a thick mess.
I had new minions this time, Maddi and Kelsey, high school volunteers with SCARE; they did most of the application work after the yellow, and excellent work they did indeed! It's good to have fresh, enthusiastic minions.
Pardon the pictures -- I took 'em while the bodies lay in storage. I'll make more, good, pictures once they are on-site and with additional blood and lighting. The red we have here is a little too "ketchup" for my taste -- clearly, I'm losing my touch; it looked good in the pot, but brightened up too much on the body. This will get toned down, though, in the final release.
A nice face might be a horrific touch on one of the heads or bodies. If I could make it blink... yeah.... hmmmm.
