Dead Dog
This was the FUN project for this year. Take a stuffed dog toy (well, two, so we had a backup) and eviscerate it. Inside of the dog the guests had to rummage around in the slime and ick to find a token necessary to complete the quest.
The intestines were made by casting hot-pour PVC into sausage casings. These, by the way, really shrivel up under the heat and get skinny, so be sure to use oversized casings if you try this. They also essentially deep-fry under the 250 to 300 degree PVC and get all crunchy!
The ribcage was cut out of a full-size Bucky skeleton (the kind I use for everything), and assembled with a spine and everything. Guts were just blobs of PVC.
I used a mixture of glycerine and slime from FX Supply (their stringy slime is wonderful!) to make the guts nasty.
